SPORTSMANSHIP

GOOD SPORTSMANSHIP POLICY & GUIDELINES
In order to encourage good behavior and to protect our mission and the spirit of our League, the NCGLL Board is adopting this enforcement system to ensure that all teams support the NCGLL's Good Sportsmanship Policy + Guidelines.
Our overarching theme continues to reinforce “Honoring the Game” and to communicate and resolve issues; we do not wish to penalize our Member Programs; individuals and/or groups alike.

Enforcement System:
  • Good Standing:  No warnings or issues.
  • 1st Warning: NCGLL has issued an individual/team/program its first warning regarding its behavior or other issue.
  • 2nd Warning:  NCGLL has issued an individual/team/program its second warning regarding its behavior or other issue.
  • Probation:  NCGLL has issued a 2nd warning regarding:  A) a repeated offense related to the 1st warning or B) for a separate unrelated issue. Program representatives will be required to meet with the NCGLL's Review Committee before being permitted to apply for membership the next year.
  • Suspension:  Programs that receive a 3rd warning of any kind during the course of the season will be allowed to honor the remainder of their schedules, so as not to penalize the other teams, however, they will be prohibited from participating in additional/special events throughout the year (i.e. All Star Game).  Program representatives will be required to meet with the NCGLL’s Review Committee before being permitted to apply for membership the next year.
  • Expulsion:  After due consideration, and based upon repeated unacceptable actions/behavior, the NCGLL is given no other option but to expel all of the Program’s teams from the League for a minimum of one (1) year.
Any complaint regarding the inappropriate sportsmanship of a coach, player, official, or fan should be submitted to the NCGLL by the Monday morning following the date the incident occurred. SIRs may be filed by anyone participating in or observing an NCGLL game, including players, parents, coaches, or club officers. Current NCGLL Member Representatives. will review submitted SIRs and determine whether or not an organizations should be given a warning.  Member Programs that have either been suspended or expelled may appeal this decision to the entire NCGLL Organization.
